Pride of Preston LOL282 held their inaugural meeting on the 21st September 1968. Over the years LOL282 have had their fair share of meeting venues, but finally found their home in Fulwood, Preston, where we meet every month on the first Friday at 2000hrs, excluding January and July.
Our membership consists of ages from twenty to eighty years old and everything in between, so we find ourselves with a wide range of activities throughout the year, whether it be our Christmas Function, Visitations to other Lodges, or Charity Days we can never be called an non active lodge, not forgetting our members love to travel so no matter where you travel in the country you are likely to see a 282 man on parade.
Our Lodge Master is the current Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master of England, and we have two Honorary Deputy Grand Master's within our membership, our longest serving members have over 40years experience in the institution.
In 2018 we travelled as a Lodge over to Northern Ireland, where we celebrated our 50th Anniversary, this included a visit to the Boyne Visitor Centre, a visit to Dan Winters Cottage, a Parade in our Honour through Sandy Row, and a trip over to Londonderry
Members of the lodge in June 2019 undertook a gruelling charity cycle between the Adult Lodges in Red Rose District 13, from Bolton to Blackburn to Preston and onto Blackpool, raising almost £500 for two fantastic causes.
